The Public Works Department is responsible for:

  • General Matters dealing with Public Works activities
  • Capital Construction Projects
  • Engineering Studies

Please note, waste management (garbage & recycling) is managed by the County of Simcoe.

Forms & Permits Available at the Public Works Department

  • Entrance Permit - required when installing a new driveway and/or paving an existing driveway. Available in the office.
  • Water and Sanitary Connection - for the installation of services to hook-up to the Township System.
  • Watering Permit - available for laying sod only and may be picked up in the office.

  • Road Maintenance including traffic signs, road surface and side drainage, winter snow clearing

Reporting a Concern

Residents of Tay Township should contact the Public Works Secretary if they have any concerns with respect to roads, sidewalks, roadsides, drainage, parks and streetlights. The Public Works Secretary will fill-out a Request for Action form and it will be forwarded to the appropriate division to deal with the request.

Policy Statement & Commitment 
The Township is committed to the consumer to ensure a consistent supply of safe, high quality drinking water, and to maintain and continuously improve its quality management system and to meet all applicable regulations.

 

Reporting a Concern (Water & Sewer)
Residents of Tay Township should contact the Environmental Support Person if they have any water or sewer concerns. A Request for Action form will be completed and forwarded to the appropriate division to deal with the request.

OUTSIDE MUNICIPAL WATER RESTRICTIONS
Even numbered houses on even calendar days
Odd numbered houses on odd calendar days

All residents using municipal water are restricted to one (1) outside faucet for the use of watering lawns and gardens. Water restrictions are in effect all year round and filling or topping up pools is prohibited.  Watering is restricted to the hours of 7:00 am to 9:00 am and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

NOTICE: The Paradise Point/Grandview Beach Seasonal Water System shall be open prior to the May long weekend and closed the Tuesday following the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Environmental Department requires sufficient time to complete the necessary repairs, maintenance and make certain there is no frost in the ground for opening and closing the system.
