PORT MCNICOLL YOUTH CENTRE
Located at 541 Calvert St. in Port McNicoll
The Township of Tay is planning some scheduled youth programming and specialized workshops from local agencies to help engage youth within the community.
Planned Programming to include:
- Basketball
- Soccer
- Ice Skating
- Board Games
- Group Activities
- Homework Help
- Flag Football
- Show shoeing
Possible Workshop Opportunities:
- Injury Prevention
- Healthy Eating
- Physical Activity
- Recreational Safety
- Tobacco Prevention
The Youth Centre will be open for Youth between the ages of 12-18. All programs, games and activities will be FREE!!!

Youth Programs
WAUBAUSHENE YOUTH CLUB - AKA ‘The Benny Club’
Ages 5-18
Located out of the Bridgeview Park Portable – the Waubaushene Recreation Committee is hard at work planning Youth Programming for the children of Waubaushene. Come on out every Tuesday and Friday from 6pm – 8pm and enjoy a wide variety of different activities and games for Youth of all ages to enjoy. Activities range from: Outdoor Sports, Crafts, Movies Nights, Volleyball, Baseball and the list goes on and on. All are welcome – and the best part all activates/games are FREE!
Students looking for volunteer hours are welcome to come out and volunteer.

MARCH BREAK YOUTH COURSES
Babysitting Course-Ages 11 +
March 13 - 8:45 am to 4:00 pm
Learn the basic responsibilities of babysitting, basic skills in childcare, first aid skills, and safety knowledge. Please bring your lunch, a doll or teddy bear & a pencil to class. The class will be held at the Port McNicoll Youth Centre (541 Calvert St). Pre-registration is required by March 5th.
Young Boaters Course–Ages 10 to 18
March 15 - 8:45 am to 4:00 pm
This program teaches how to safely operate a watercraft and certify them for their Pleasure Craft Operator Card. Please bring your lunch & a pen/pencil to class. The class will be held at the Port McNicoll Youth Centre (541 Calvert St). Pre-registration is required by March 5th.
ACTIVE FUN KIT
What is an Active Fun Kit?
It’s a tub full of easy to use equipment like bean bags, hoola hoops, pylons, parachutes, rubber chickens, balls and games to get kids up an active.
Why get Active?
Active kids are healthy kids. Helping kids to develop an active lifestyle will reduce their risk of developing heart disease, type 2 diabetes, some cancers and osteoporosis.
Who can borrow an Active Fun Kit?
Anyone can reserve a kit for their children’s birthday, family get-togethers and community events. Its FREE!
Available at the Tay Township Office. Please call ahead to ensure availability.
